I'll also go out on a limb and state that most people clearly don't know why it's so infeasible for them to think there are actual hacker problems in this game: because it turns out with a proprietary engine and a low player base almost no one makes cheats for this game considering the effort and expense for absolutely no market. I think an even bigger take-away from this post is the efficacy of anti-hacker discplinary measures before they introduced BattlEye anti-cheat in 2018. IP bans don't seem to me like 'usual practice' considering they are easily bypassed and often target more than the inital user of the IP address.

This certainly seems to be new information in the light of everything I heard about disciplinary actions from RETO MOTO. I just made this post because there are quite a few people that think that Heroes & Generals is filled with cheaters and that the developers do not ban anyone or even care much about it, this is just one clear instance which clearly showed that the developers/team are quite proficient at banning hackers (despite me trying to use the wallhack sparingly, and not using it to too obvious levels they still found out - multiple times).Įxcept then I got banned the next day AND I got IP banned. Later on I met 2 people in the game who were obviously cheating (instant aim snapping, they knew your exact position, practically having 0 deaths whilst having almost 100 kills) - I reported them formally and I got word that BOTH of their accounts got banned (as the support team generally lets you know if there had been an action they undertook). Then a month later I re-purchased the hack and played on a different alt account, except then I got banned the next day AND I got IP banned. Had to start from scratch, but that was my own fault. Except that I accidentally also logged in with my main account somewhere within those 2 days (though I did not play with it) and thus my main account was also banned.

They are very proficient at banning hackers as less than 2 days later my (alt) account was banned.

In my little mind: if the developers said they would not release it, and yet they do it anyway to cash in, then I will wallhack so I can see where the snipers are at, screw 'em!īut to those who think that the developers do not ban cheaters or that it takes a long time for them to do so: Nope, they ban cheaters & they do it pretty fast. I did not use it in general gameplay but only when there was an obvious infantry sniper killing people/me over and over again. and not the ones we have now, no, they were the Recon scopes with high magnification (what was that even the point of playing Recon then?), and I recall that everywhere you went during that time that you got shot by some infantry sniper hiding/camping out somewhere (which was a new thing at the time), this made me SO angry that I purchased a wallhack so that I could see where they were hiding as some matches you just kept getting killed by them over and over again. What do they do roughly a year later? Release infantry scopes. Whilst roughly a year before they were released Reto.RedBjarne (the director) said in a Twitch livestream, after someone asked that question near the end, that they would NOT release scopes for the infantry classes "as that would not be balanced". namely: the infantry sniper scopes that they released at some point. I purchased a wallhack in around 2016, I never use cheats for online games but there was one thing that was pissing me off to an extreme degree. Yup, you read it right! Am I ashamed of it? Yes, but.
